Being Green - 23 February 2018

How are you doing on your water saving? I have sallied out a number of times to my water meter and done the arithmetic, and I can report we’re doing OK, just on the right side of 50litres per person per day. I hope you do not detect a note of self-satisfaction there, but of course you can soon deflate that by pointing out that I can always do better. It’s hard, but possible. So if you hear or read of another trick or stratagem for keeping back that trickle, do it.

Day Zero has been pushed back to July 9th. That was the encouraging news announced by Deputy Mayor Ian Neilson just a few days ago. It doesn’t mean we should let up on keeping our usage at the absolute minimum..
Dam levels have dropped at a lower rate this week when compared to a year ago in an equally rainless week. So good going on the demand side.
