Zambian President Edgar Lungu was today sworn in as the 6th Republican President. His election comes following a fierce challenge from the opposition UPND led by wealthy businessman Hikainde Hichilema. Despite a massive court bid by the opposition to have his election annulled by the constitutional court, the court ruled in favour of the ruling party.
